How does 3MT work?

3MT有两轮，(1)预赛和(2)冠军赛. 预赛的获胜者进入冠军赛.

Preliminary Rounds

3MT比赛以预赛开始，共有六组选手. 参赛者被随机分配到五组中的一组. 在初赛中，每位参赛者提交一段3分钟的视频来展示他们的研究. 视频可以包含一个静态图像(PowerPoint幻灯片或其他图形).

研究生院将提交的视频发送给评审团, and each preliminary ground has its own panel. 评委包括新大教师、研究生和法戈社区成员. 评委们根据对主题的理解程度来评估视频, content of the presentation, engagement with the audience, and communication skills.

每个初赛冠军将获得250美元并晋级冠军赛. The championship round is open to the public.

Championship Round

Comprehension and Content

• Presentation clearly described the research strategy/design and the results/findings of the research; and

Engagement and Communication

• The PowerPoint slide was well-defined and enhanced the presentation; and

Preliminary Video Round

• 演讲时间限制为3分钟，超过3分钟的选手将被取消资格.

• Videos must meet the following criteria:
  • Filmed on the horizontal;
  • Filmed from a static position;
  • Filmed from one camera angle;

Championship Round
